How To Set Up Paypal

What is Paypal?  Paypal is an online service that allows its members to send money to each other without sharing financial information.  Members create accounts and use their account balances, bank accounts,  and credit cards to complete transactions.  Paypal enables global ecommerce by making payments possible across different locations, currencies, and languages.

How do you set up a Paypal account?

Simple.  Visit www.paypal.com and find the "Sign up" link.  You can choose either a personal account or business account.  Fill in the required information.  For detailed steps visit dummies.com.

What is Google Checkout?

GoogleCheckout is pretty much the same service as Paypal.  However, we recommend Google Checkout over Paypal.  Google Checkout is a fast, secure checkout process that helps increase sales by bringing you more customers and allowing them to buy from you quickly and easily with a single login.  You can easily add Google Checkout to your online store or website.  Google Checkout is just one of the many great tools you should definitely use to increase exposure and sales to your site.
What is Google Checkout?

Eventually you will want to sign up for a merchant account for your online business.  These merchant accounts will process your customers payments directly for you.  There are many benefits of taking credit card payments online and/or offline.  Credit cards are the preferred method of online payment.  This is because they have a specific fraud protection.  Shoppers also spend more and often when they use their credit cards.  When you accept credit cards, customers feel more confident in your business.   It gives them the feeling of a safe transaction when they shop with you.  More often because of this, they will continue to come back to your store to shop.  And of course, the best reason to accept credit cards on your online store is because it's fast.  With checks or other payments, it will take longer to process the order.  Not saying you should accept other forms of payment, just adding credit card processing is a must.  Again, getting started accepting credit cards without a merchant account is made easy with Google Checkout® and Paypal®.
